Check
out our NEW Message
Board & Listserver.
This is a new tool for Alaska's Climbing
and Outdoor Community to exchange information. All messages are
archived on the message board or join
the listserver and new postings will be emailed to you. The archived
messages are searchable by keyword, date, etc. So for example, it's
possible to easily find the latest report of ice climbing conditions
in Portage or Valdez, or anyplace someone has reported on. Try it
out.
DEVELOPEMENT IN HATCHER PASS
Last summer, a new road was built inside the Hatcher Pass Management
Area for a chronically abandoned ski resort. Next summer, the Hatcher
Pass Fishhook Road is being paved beyond the Motherlode Lodge all
the way to the Independence Mine Museum to increase tourism. If
you would like to find out more details, call the Hatcher Pass State
Park – 745-3975 – ask for Pat Murphy.
For
info on road construction info / delays, call the MatSu DOT –
745-5230.
